Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, u saradnji s Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, raspisao je konkurs za prijave na online audiciju za mlade muzičare koji žele sudjelovati u stipendiranim sesijama MYO u Tunisu, Malti, Francuskoj i Italiji u toku 2022. godine.

The Symphonic Session of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra (MYO) is designed to future professional classical musicians from the Mediterranean. This training session offers an intercultural experience of the orchestra life in rehearsals, concert and on tour within the stimulating frame of the Aix Festival. It provides a high-level musical training where young musicians can benefit from the coaching of experimented artists while working some symphonic repertoire's masterpieces under the baton of young and talented conductor Duncan Ward. Since 2010, some players of the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra coach the different sections of the orchestra. Every year, almost 600 musicians apply to one of our audition organized in about twenty cities of the Mediterranean where some 100 young talents are selected.

Duncan Ward is appointed musical director of our symphonic session from 2020 to 2023.

The four 2022 Medinea Sessions of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra (MYO) are each open to a dozen of young and talented musicians from the Mediterranean basin building their careers to become professional artists and who have an intense practice of musical improvisation, even of the composition. Each session is designed for a large diversity of musical aesthetics and Mediterranean expressions and hosts all styles of music using elements of improvisations (jazz, traditional music, early music, etc.).

Fabrizio Cassol, composer, saxophonist and jazzman, guides these sessions and proposes to experiment with techniques of collective composition, within an ensemble, with the aim of leading to the creation of a common musical production which also reveals individual singularities. This training offers a unique intercultural experience of the life of an ensemble in creation, in rehearsals and on tour.

due to Covid-19 restrictions

In some specific cases, the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra will be very pleased to consider a video-application if there is no audition in some applicants’ Mediterranean countries (for example: musicians from Syria, from Lybia, etc.) and, if the musician has not any possibility of travel and meet the jury in one auditions’ venue. If you are resident of one country which hosts an audition, please note that the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra will always favor the musicians (of an equivalent level) who made the effort to travel to pass the audition.

How to process?

To proceed to the video application, please follow these compulsory steps:

• Complete our registration form online

• Add your 2 video-links:

- Video recording of a standard tune (see the paragraphe Audition test)

- Video recording of a personal composition or an arrangement (see the paragraphe Audition test)

One of video recording should be performed with the candidate as a solo player.
