Center of Music Education

Center of Music Education was founded in 2012 and has been involved in lifelong learning, professional and applied pedagogical research, finding methods for improving music education, etc. More specific provisions on Center’s activity are passed through a separate decision of the Council. Service for support to and development of academic career is involved in supporting the pedagogical, artistic and research development of teaching staff.

Service provides support to improvements in the teaching process, monitors students’ career, organizes pedagogical workshops for teachers and students, etc. More specific provisions on Service’s activity are passed through a separate decision of the Council. Center is managed by the Head of Center, who is appointed by Council upon Dean’s proposal for a four years’ period. A full-time teacher can be appointed the Head of Center.
Initially, Center of Music Education was managed by Vice-Dean of Teaching Affairs, and in 2014 doc.dr. Valida Akšamija was appointed the Head of Center.
