Department of Stringed Instruments and Guitar

 

It is one of the fundamental departments of Academy, with a large number of students, teachers and teaching assistants, and certainly with a large concert production. Over Academy’s history, classes were taught by Aleksandar Szegedi, Milan Tarbuk, Kurt Hauser, Stjepan Sinjeri, Božidar Nikolić, Ivan Poljanšek, Vladimir Antolek Orešek, Vinko Kepnik, Ivo Đino Sagrestano, Branimir Huterer, Velko Todevski, David Kamhi, Osman Faruk Sijarić, Dževad Šabanagić, Radoslava Medle.

At present, classes are taught by YeonJu Jeong, Emina Smolović, Marko Simović, Pavel Kondrušević, Belma Alić, Slobodan Gerić, with Ilma Zulum, Alma Dizdar, Aida Deljkić and Tamara Arsovski as a teaching assistants.

Dženana Hadžić and Adela Šabić are artistic assistants at the Department. Over the last decade, Department has also been receiving help by many professors from abroad, particularly by prof. Zoran Krajišnik of the Art Academy in Novi Sad, Darko Karajić of the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade and Maroje Brcić, a guitar player from Zagreb.

In 2005, concentration in Guitar was opened, with classes delivered by the renowned Austrian guitar player and professor at Hochschule für Musik und darstelende Kunst in Vienna Alexander Swete and Đani Šehu, a graduate with prof. Swete. Teaching assistent in Guitar is Adnan Alagić. Over the past five years, Department students have received seven prizes at international competitions in the countries of the region.
